How we protect your data in Edith

Anyone who uses Edith entrusts us with some of the most sensitive information there is: assessments, conversations and documents about people in vulnerable situations. That trust has to be earned. This autumn we have therefore reviewed how our staff and our systems access your data, and tightened it. Here is a summary of what we have put in place.
Our staff do not work with the content of your assessments, documents or recordings. If someone at Edith Care needs to look, for example in a support case, access is granted for that case only and withdrawn afterwards, and all access by our staff is logged.
Everything our staff do in the database and among stored files is logged and kept for twelve months. Afterwards, it is possible to see who at Edith Care did what.
Edith connects to the database with its own account that can only do what the service needs, not as an administrator. Passwords and keys for the database and file storage are kept encrypted in a key vault and not on staff computers.
All our staff sign in with a passkey: a face or fingerprint instead of a password. Our cloud environment is not administered from accounts used for email, and anyone who can publish a new version of Edith must sign in with two-step verification. Administrative events in the cloud environment raise an alert immediately, so unauthorised attempts are caught while they happen.
Your assessments, documents and files are stored with Microsoft Azure in Sweden and encrypted both at rest and in transit. Your data is never used to train AI models.
Here is what we are doing next. The database will only be reachable from our own hosting environment. You will be able to find out who has accessed your assessments, even if it is someone at Edith Care. And we are writing a security description: how we protect your data, and how we access it.
Security is never finished, and we will keep telling you what we do. If you have questions, or want to go through how it works in your organisation, contact us at security@edithcare.se.
